The Tanger Outlets at the Arches is the first regional mall of its size to be built on Long Island in three decades. It sits on 83 acres. The design touches on the details of an Italian village, with its wide piazzas and buildings that are accented with tile roofs, cast stone and venetian plaster finishes. The central plaza features a grand fountain which acts as an outdoor skating rink during the holiday season.

The outlets are LEED Silver Certified by incorporating a number of environmental features and strategies, such as reducing water usage, high efficiency heating and air conditioning, and diverting over 50% of construction waste from landfills.
