This new state-of-the-art High School consists of a two-level 236,000 SF education building designed for 1,600  students with site features that includes a new stadium with a turf field and track, two turf practice fields, baseball and softball fields, eight tennis courts, auxiliary buildings such as a field house, concessions, ticket booth, toilet facilities, guard shack, and equipment storage.

​​Features of the new high school building includes a top loaded competition main and auxiliary gymnasiums, locker rooms, multi-purpose rooms, multi-purpose auditorium with platform, musical, and visual arts spaces, career and technical education shops, collaborative area for student dining and meeting, media center, general classrooms and science labs, administration and guidance spaces, and centrally located teacher workrooms with cubicles for each teacher. Spaces are located and organized about a two-level main circulation and collaborative spine with secondary circulation branching off.  The new WCHS will be Iredell-Statesville Schools first new high school in 20 years and will be the new benchmark that will meet their “mission” for the next 50+ years.   As of June 2023 this project is currently in the permitting process.
